"neither" örnekleri için hem çoğul hem tekil fiil kulllanılabilir ama iki şeyden bahsettiğimiz için "neither doctor..." ya da "neither of my sister..." olarak tekil isim almaz.
Neither of my sisters are doctors.
Neither of my sisters is doctor.
There are two doctors in this clinic but neither of them [neither of the doctors] is/are working today.
Yukarıdaki örnekte tekil ya da çoğul fiil kullanılabilir ama "neither" olumsuzluk anlamı verdiği için olumsuz kullanılmaz.
The girls both learn English. = Both of the girls learn English.
"both" kulllandığında fiil çoğul olmalı.
either = iki şeyden biri / neither = hiçbiri (iki şeyden)
A: "Do you prefer tea or coffee?"
B: "Either, I just want something warm." (it doesn't matter) [farketmez, ikisinden biri]
B: "Neither, I had too much today." [ikisini de istemiyorum.]
