"if" veya "whether" la isim cümleciklerinin kullanımı.
It's not certain if the meeting will be cancelled. (Toplantının iptal edilip edilmeyeceği belli değil.)
I wonder whether she will talk about the latest political issues or not. (Politikadaki son olaylarla ilgili konuşup konuşmayacağını merak ediyorum.)
"whether" ve "if" aynı anlamı verir ve her ikisi de kullanılır. Bu cümleciklerin sonuna "or not" ın kullanılıp kullanılmaması anlamda değişikliğe sabep olmaz. Kullanıldığında dikkat edilmesi gereken şey, her zaman cümlenin en sonuna değil "if" veya "whether" ın bağladığı kısmın sonuna geldiğidir.
Whether the manager confirms or not is very important for us. (Müdürün onaylayıp onaylamaması bizim için çok önemli.)
I'm not sure if this road is right. (Bu yolun doğru olup olmadığından emin değilim.)
I don't care if she likes it or not. (Beğenip beğenmemesi umrumda değil.)
